SPECIAL INTEREST

Bateleur Eco Safaris compiles programmes for special-interest groups.

Teambuilding & Incentives:

Tailor-made programmes, drawing a link between elements and processes in nature and the work place.  A wide range of enjoyable activities promotes lateral thinking, as well as changes in attitude and perception.

Being so far removed from the usual surroundings & day-to-day 'clutter' is conducive to guests' inner & outer growth and experiences are commonly described as "life-changing".

Bushcraft & survival:

Clients can choose how mild or wild this programme gets. It includes methods of surviving in the wild, understanding animal behaviour, tracking & trailing, anti-poaching techniques & exercises, rifle craft skills and more.

Specialist Tracking courses:

An in-depth course on tracking, trailing & spoor identification. This is offered at a beginner, intermediate & advanced level.

Veterinary programmes

Bateleur Eco Safaris is a strong supporter of environmental education.  The camp offers a range of practical, hands-on courses that can be tailored to suit groups such as students in the wildlife management field, veterinarians and field guides.

School programmes

Scholars are taught bushcraft and survival skills, alertness & awareness skills, the importance of preserving our environment, sustainable use of resources, navigation and astronomy.  In addition, a practical demonstration exposes the magical world of reptiles - which are passed around for everyone to touch!

Birding programmes

With 360 bird species in the area, this is a birder’s paradise.  The absence of strict schedules allows for hours of uninterrupted observation, while also enjoying a real African safari.

Photographic safaris

From the minute you open your eyes in the African bush, photo-opportunities present themselves: A drop of dew on a blade of grass; a baby elephant discovering his trunk; a beautiful, gnarled tree truck; a cobra sinking it’s fangs into another snake; a collection of chunky white clouds in the sky.  No rushing, no time constraints - providing the platform for award-winning photos.

Astronomy courses

These courses cover a host of topics, including identifying constellations; cosmology; ancient folklore; telescope & naked-eye viewing and much more. Course content can be adapted to suit novice to Ph.D astro-physicist level. Course length is approximately 15 hours. A minimum of 10 people is required. Telescopes/equipment will be provided.
