TRAVEL OPTIONS

Road travel – self drive

By Road: Johannesburg to the camp - 5½ hours. Guests can choose to drive themselves, or use a competitively priced, daily shuttle service from Johannesburg/Pretoria to Hoedspruit and back. Please log onto www.ashtonstours.com for shuttle rates and bookings.

Scheduled flights

SAA has scheduled flights to Eastgate Airport in Hoedspruit – duration of flight is 1 hour. Log onto www.flysaa.com for further details. Transfers from Eastgate Airport can be arranged.

Chartered flights

Chartered flights land at the tarred, Rockfig airstrip.
GPS co-ordinates: S 024° 17' 824" x E 031° 17' 197". The runway is 1000m in length. Per person landing & departure fees are payable and permission must be obtained first from reservations@rockfig.co.z

THE SEASONS

Winter: June to August
Daily temperatures range from + 4 to 26 °C (40 to 80 °F) with little or no rain. Warm clothing is required for game drives.

Spring: September
Temperatures can be unpredictable, ranging between 4 and 32 °C (40 to 90 °F). Warm clothing is advisable for early morning and evening activities.

Summer: October to March
Rains generally start in November or December and days are humid. Temperatures range between 15 and 40 °C (60 to 105 °F).

Autumn: April to May
Small chance of rain. Night and day temperatures range from 15 to 32 °C (60 to 90 °F).
